I am not in the habit of writing reviews or doing surveys, however, I feel compelled to write one for this hotel. My sister and I recently stayed at the St. Regis for the weekend and had a fabulous time. The Staff: Very helpful and kind. Shout out to Brent or Bret that was working at the desk the day that we arrived; he was so kind and lovely - he made us feel very welcome and had a really lovely disposition. He also wrote us a really welcoming postcard, which we took home as a keepsake of this special little trip! Another big shout out to Calvin, who works in the dining room. He provided us with excellent service, conversation, and spot on directions and ideas, plus a little about the hotel’s history! Calvin, it was a pleasure! The breakfast was excellent and plentiful. The fellow that worked the afternoon shift at the desk did not ever say hello. Twice I came into the hotel and sat in the lobby to wait for my sister and never once said hello. I still give the staff a five as when we asked him a question and he had to talk to us, he was quite nice, so I chalk it up to his personality and all of the unsavoury folks that enter the hotel on a daily basis that he has to deal with. Location, Location, Location: Great location and felt safe. Close to Skytrain, touristy things within walking distance and great shopping, Hotel: I am quite particular and look on the Bed Bug Registry before I choose a hotel. Thus one has no reports, which, in this day and age it’s unusual, as the cleanest and top hotels in the world are bound to get them. Our room was spotless! A huge shout out to the cleaning staff that kept this place spotless! I love, loved, loved that the little window in our room opened and brought in fresh air. We did not find it noisy at all. The shower gel, soap, lotion, etc., were all l’occitane which really makes a big difference, whether all you hotel owners out there think that it does not. Would we stay here again? In a heart beat!
